Gayuma ni Maria

Gayuma ni Maria

We've been wanting to try Gayuma ni Maria's famous dishes which people have raved about on the net. Finally, we reached the place by riding a jeep from SM North to QC Hall then to Kalayaan cor. V. Luna and a tricycle ride to the resto. :)

Artwork

Gayuma is unlike other restos. It had a simple signage, they offered a menu for the day and had several artworks adorning the walls.

 Gayuma-tized :)

THE AMBIANCE

Service Area

The interiors were not at all extravagant.  The lights were dim and so offered the visitors an intimate and relaxing dining experience.

Spells ^_^

The walls had spells and lists of aphrodisiacs stuck on them! It was fun reading some of them! They added to the enchanting feel of the resto. :)

Naughty Nook

Gayuma had a "Naughty Nook" on the first floor where you can buy gifts for him and her, biscuits, dream catchers and some naughty stuff -- we don't want to get into details. Haha! :D While, on the second floor, they sell raincoats and robe which are all unique in their designs.

THE TABLES

You can choose to eat at the main floor, outside or at the second floor. The tables and chairs were mismatched, which added to the uniqueness of the place.

Mismatched chairs

The main floor has just the right space, not too small nor big. It was nice that they had booths, too, separated by thin white cloths.

Seats outside

Outside, there are more seats and offered an al fresco-like dining. This is a good place to dine for groups. :)

At the second floor :p

While at the second floor, you can eat like the Japanese or Koreans -- sitting on the floor! =)

THE MENU

They offered various dishes with such fun and unique names, all pertaining to LOVE.

The Gayuma Love Story

  • Attraction - teaser to whet the appetite
  • Courtship - the beginnings of something gastronomically great
  • Fling - Savory, quickie treats
  • Commitment - Real deal dishes to devour (poultry, beef, seafood, pasta)
  • Temptation - with a cup of coffee, hot choco or tea, these to die for mouth - watering desserts make for a heavenly finish

LET'S EAT

My Kind of Mushy

My Kind of Mushy [145php]. Fresh wild mushroom soup -- GAYUMATIZED. This soup was ok for the first few spoonfuls but it got too strong for our taste buds -- too much pepper hehe!

H.H.W.W.P.S.S.P.

H.H.W.W.P.S.S.P. (Holding Hands While Walking Pa-Sway Sway Pa) [175php]. Crisp fried peppery chicken tenders. We liked this dish, it just had the right amount of spice and had a kick to it.

Once you go black, you never go back

Once you go black, you never go back [225php]. Cocoa-crusted cream dory with chocolate sauce - you'll never want to eat fish any other way. This was our first time to eat fish with chocolate! It was good but the chocolate overpowered the simple taste of the cream dory. We enjoyed it nonetheless. =)

 Broken Promises

Broken Promises [75php]. The ultimate and original chocolate crinkle cake. This dessert would've been yummier if it were colder but again, who couldn't love chocolate?!

 Beats Sex Any Day

Beats Sex Any Day [75php]. You be the judge. Rich chocolate cake mercilessly topped with butterscotch, cream and chocolate bits (some say it should be renamed best with SEX!). 'Twas super chocolatey! You could say that we've reached our chocolate quota for the week with these two desserts. Haha! :)

DINING EXPERIENCE

Hearts all around

We're glad to have joined the bandwagon. We can now rave about Gayuma ni Maria! =) We had a great experience! As usual, there were not many others when we came there and so we had the place to ourselves. (almost!) We were satisfied with what we ate -- even had some leftovers hihi! All in all, we had a great time! =D
