Disneyland Hong Kong

Our most awaited trip to Disneyland finally comes true! =) We allotted the whole day for this! So excited to experience this one-of-a kind adventure!

 Disneyland Train ^_^

Expect the unexpected! Even the Disney train got us shrieking like kids! The seats were plush, as well as the Disney character displays! It was Mickey all around -- from the shape of the windows to the handrails! The magic is near! =)

Hello Mickey c:

 Disney train's handrail

After a few minutes, we finally arrived at our destination! Mickey, get ready for us! =D

At the Disney train stop

Seeing the welcome sign got us all excited! We're pumped up for the day ahead!

Entrance to Hong Kong Disneyland

At the entrance, with  songs from various Disney movies playing, you can already feel the magic in the air! Can't wait to see what Disneyland has to offer! :D

The magic is already here ^_^

Tickets normally cost HK $350 but we got ours for HK $320 from the guesthouse we stayed in. Savings again! :)

Disneyland Tickets

Maps and Brochures are our best friends :)

The park consists of four themed areas: Main Street USA, Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Tomorrowland.

Main Street USA is where most of the souvenir shops are. You can also watch the day parades here as well as the fireworks at night.

With Magical Mickey c:

Art of Animation -- where the beginnings of the Disney films, cartoons are featured. Come see the stages of animation from sketches, to animated cells and maquettes!

Live version of a flip book

Animation Academy -- Learn how to draw your favorite Disney character! The instructions are in Cantonese though :/

Waiting for our turn

Next up: High School Musical Live! It was an interactive show with the performers dancing and singing to HSM hit songs like "What Time Is It?" and "Getcha Head in the Game" and asking the audience to shoot some hoops and  to dance with them. It turned out to be a fun street party!

 Asian version of HSM

After watching, we then headed to Tomorrowland! Attractions here include Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters, Stitch Encounter, Space Mountain, Orbitron, UFO Zone and Autopia.

  Astronauts wannabe

First ride: Orbitron -- we had the chance to pilot our own spaceship! Up and away we go! =p

 Ready for our first ride

Couldn't pass up the chance for more photo opportunities.. Haha! :)

 Ridin' high!

 To infinity and beyond ^_^

We wanted to ride the Space Mountain, but the Parade is starting in a few minutes so we went to the Main Street to get a good spot :)

Flights of Fantasy Parade

The Flights of Fantasy Parade was amazing! It featured Disney characters through innovative ways such as Mickey in the Magical Airship, and Stitch with the surfing dudes. Toy Story Green Army Men, Jungle Book monkeys, the Disney princesses were also featured. We loved that we were in the front row and got to watch them dance up close!

After the parade, we crossed the moat through the Sleeping Beauty Castle and entered a world of fantasy :)

In front of Sleeping Beauty Castle

The attractions found in Fantasyland include: It's a Small World, Mickey's PhilharMagic, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Mad Hatter Tea Cups, Cinderella Carousel, Dumbo the Flying Elephant and the Golden Mickeys.

In the Mad Hatter Tea Cup

Next: It's a Small World! We rode on a boat through different worlds featuring dolls, with costumes from various countries/ continents, singing in the language where they're from. We enjoyed the scenes from diverse cultures, from North to South! The sets were fabulously made and the music -- unforgettable!

 Aren't we happy? :)

We even heard the Tagalog version of It's a Small World, sung by Nikki Gil.

It's a small world after all :)

 "Ang mundo natin
may saya’t luha
May pag-asa,
takot, tawanan pa
Hindi tayo iba
Puso’y magkaisa
Kay liit lang ng mundo"

Next: Mickey's PhilharMagic! We took a 3D journey through some of Disney's celebrated animated films and met princesses, villains and heroes through Donald Duck's quirky antics!

 Ready for some 3D action!

 With our 3D glasses

It's time to meet and greet the Disney characters! We got to say hello to Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy!

 Donald Duck

 Minnie Mouse

The night is approaching -- we then went to see Adventureland which featured attractions such as Festival of the Lion King, Jungle River Cruise, and  Rafts and Tarzan's Tree House.

 Cruisin' time :)

On this river cruise, we came face to face with hippos, elephants, cobras and orangutans. We also witnessed a battle of fire and water -- So Cool!

 Run for your lives!

Next: Rafts and Tarzan's Tree House

 Meeting with Tarzan

Tarzan comes to life on this island outpost. We got to see interesting gadgets  that made this towering tree a home. The view from the top was also nice -- so calming and scenic!:)

 Tarzan's story

 Stay back! or else...

After touring Adventureland, we tried the Space Mountain. (before it was time for the fireworks). In this indoor roller coaster with hairpin turns, quick dips and with special effects & high tech sounds, we were launched into  darkness of space, taking us past shooting stars and comets.

Before 8pm, we went ahead to get good seats for the fireworks. We first witnessed the lighting of the Sleeping Beauty castle. Tinker Bell is seemingly showering it with fairy dust!
 Lighted Sleeping Beauty Castle!

Time for the fireworks! The night sky came alive with dazzling pyrotechnics  exploding to the choreographed sounds of classic music from Disney. It was truly an amazing display! We're so glad to have experienced all these!

Disney Fireworks :)

A separate blog would be posted for the Disney fireworks.. but words will not describe how grand the pyrotechnic, along with the sounds, display was!

Disneyland gave us memories that will last a lifetime! We'd be willing to go back so we could try ALL this magical place has to offer! This is our longest blog post so far, but it's worth it since Disneyland is the happiest place on earth... =D
