Hongkong Trip Highlights

We bought our tickets for our Hongkong Trip last January 5, 2011 via Cebu Pacific's 50% off promo. And since then, we have been planning the itineraries and budget for our whole trip. We would like to thank Pinoyexchange Forum especially Mr. Commoner for helping us and answering our questions regarding our trip.

We went to Terminal 3  of Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 3am last March 16, 2011 for our Hongkong trip. We checked-in our baggage, paid the Travel Tax  and the Terminal Fee worth 1620php and 750php, respectively. We then walked to Gate 110 and waited until our Boarding Time (0540H).

After 2 hours of being in the air, we finally arrived in Hong Kong at around 7am, got our baggage and paid for our Octopus Cards (OC) for 250hkd each. We then rode the A21 bus (OC = 33hkd) to Nathan Road, the 13th bus stop.. so freakin cold! The temperature that day was 12-16 deg. Celsius! We then exchanged our US dollars to HK dollars at Wing Hoi Money Changer located inside Mirador Mansion.

We then checked-in at Golden Crown Guesthouse, paid 1500hkd for our 3-day stay and left our baggage inside our room before starting our Hong Kong adventure. This is it! Woohoo! Hong Kong, here we come! :)

Day 1 (March 16, 2011)

Directions: Ride the MTR at Tsim Sha Tsui Station -> Admiralty (exit B) -> CityBus 629 -> Ocean Park (OC = 7.9hkd)

The steepest part/incline was 27 degrees.. felt like 45! All the buildings we passed seemed slanted.. Cool! Hehe! :)

 While waiting for the Tram

Time to get up close and personal with some famous celebrities! (with their wax figures that is..)

Avenue of Stars
Directions: Walking Distance from Golden Crown

It took a while before we got there. (took some wrong turns hehe!) But all's well that ends well. We got to take great pics! Love 'em! =)

We weren't able to go up to see the 10000 Buddhas. It was raining and we had to check out of our hotel. Maybe when we go back next time =)

Going to the top of the Buddha

Symphony of Lights
Directions: 10minute walk from Golden Crown
Show Hour: 8pm

It's cool how the music is coordinated with the blinking lights from the buildings across the river! The photos we took were not that good because of the thick fog/ dark clouds :(

Too bad it's so foggy :(

Our Hongkong trip will not be complete without tasting their street food. We tried the octopus, fish balls, and sausage with the curry sauce. The chili helped fight the cold.. Haha! :D

Hongkong street food

Note: We will post a blog of each landmark that we've been to in Hongkong in the coming days (as time permits.. hehe!)

MACAU Trip Highlights to be posted as well.. :D

  11. Hi! Thanks for visiting our blog. Sorry, but we don't have any picture of the room we stayed in Golden Crown because it wasn't prepared yet when we got there. But based on the price and the location of the hostel to the train station, we definitely recommend Golden Crown. :)
